Philosophy

At the age of ten, I read Albert Schweitzer’s biography. His teaching of Reverence for Life inspired me. I decided to study medicine and today I am a doctor out of conviction.

As a patient, you entrust me with your health and I am very aware of my responsibility towards you. For this reason, my team and I focus on providing expertise on a personal, professional and organisational level throughout the healing process from diagnosis and to treatment.

I will gladly take the time to answer all your questions in a way that you can understand. With my many years of experience and my recommendations, I would like to support you in making your own informed decisions about the nature of your treatment. My aim is to find a treatment that is individually tailored to you, which avoids side effects as best as possible and which also works quickly and safely on a long-term basis.

Services and treatments

Our practice performs dermatological surgical procedures on an outpatient basis. Skin cancer prevention and aesthetic surgery treatments include the surgical removal of minor and major skin conditions. We employ state-of-the-art procedures, equipment and technology to support optimum treatment.

We are able to treat numerous skin diseases and cosmetically unsightly conditions virtually pain-free with our ultra-modern lasers. We provide each patient with comprehensive consultation before treatment.

  • Removal of benign skin conditions, papules
  • Pigments (blemishes caused by old age or exposure to the sun)
  • Scars, pregnancy marks and stretch marks
  • Skin tightening, skin rejuvenation

Skin disorders in children and infants and their treatments often differ from adults. Children with skin diseases need child-friendly therapy in an anxiety-free atmosphere. If there is a genetic tendency toward allergies and atopic eczema (formerly known as neurodermatitis), we will advise you as parents comprehensively on preventive measures and courses of action. Together with you as parents, we will find the optimum treatment and skin care for your child.

Inflammatory skin diseases can be caused genetically or by external influences. Diseases caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites are known as infectious diseases. Depending on the disease, the symptoms are often different, ranging from reddening of the skin, itching, accumulation of pus, scaling or crust formation. We will carefully analyse the symptoms and causes to ensure targeted treatment.

The number of people suffering from skin cancer is considerably higher in Switzerland than in the rest of Europe. To reduce the risk of developing skin cancer, existing moles, pigmentation changes and abnormal skin lesions should be regularly examined. We will examine and remove suspicious skin changes. We can also treat or remove cosmetically unsightly lesions.

Travelling to climate zones outside the temperate zone (tropics, subtropics, Arctic) can also lead to tropical and travel diseases of the skin. To ensure a correct diagnosis, specialist knowledge is required for optimum treatment. Dr. Teske has completed training for the DDA Certificate for Tropical and Travel Dermatology.

Sexually transmitted diseases are diseases that can be transmitted through sexual contact. But not every disease transmitted during sexual intercourse is also a sexually transmitted disease. The symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases lead to problems in the genital area or in the entire body. We diagnose sexually transmitted diseases, treat the cause and symptoms and advise on prevention.

Venous disorders are very common in our society. Patients not only suffer from an aesthetic point of view. If left untreated, venous diseases can present a serious medical problem and lead to scarring, inflammation or ulcers. We offer modern vein treatment in our practice.

The causes of excessive sweating can be many and varied. The quality of life can be considerably impaired in both a social and a professional context. In these cases, a specialist medical examination and therapy is recommended.

Our practice uses the most modern examination methods for the identification of allergies. Serological antibody tests (by means of a blood test) and direct skin tests can be used to detect many different allergens or sensitisations (latex, medications, mites, foodstuffs, fungi, pollen, animal hair, etc.). We provide the necessary allergological treatment to treat the respective condition.

Many inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis (neurodermatitis), vitiligo (a condition in which patches of skin lose their pigmentation), pruritus (unbearable itching) and psoriasis (a condition characterised by patches of abnormal skin) respond very well to light therapy with UV radiation. Our practice offers these light therapy treatments.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a very effective and minimally invasive treatment option for superficial skin cancer or sun-related preliminary-stage skin cancer. A light-sensitising substance is applied on the diseased skin parts and treated with red light after an exposure period. The treatment can be repeated several times without damaging the skin. The skin rejuvenating effect of this treatment is even used in cosmetic dermatology. We carry out this modern and mild procedure in our practice.
